Final year project: Totemic constructions

I explore the present relationship that humans have with their natural surroundings and propose a co-existance between different beings through configurations of human and non-human animal and plant forms. Totemism is taken as a key influence to celebrate indigeneous beliefs that privilidge a strong bond with nature and as a way to show the necessity of this kind of thought still today, in the Anthropocene era. Third year, first semester: Hybrid creatures, between human and non-human

I create hybrid beings in between human and non-human animals to show the need to re-unite with our natural surroundings in order to find our inner selves and manage to express ourselves fully, without repressing instinctive/animalistic feelings. I explore what it means to be animal and acknowledge the true animal-like nature of humans. I am inspired by the historical idea of humans with a dual nature, in between beastly and divine creatures. Yet, I put forward a more complex utopic vision that wants to see humans as embedded within nature and that take on elements of non-human creatures. Second year university works: Reliquary

Time, memory and place: Reliquary 2020 How will this year be remembered in the future? In my view it will be like a jar full of memories Sculptures and etchings explore the concept of conservation linked to the psychological need to preserve memories.
