First year university works: Illusionary identity

Identity is an illusion: we fool ourselves and others by aquiring many masks while convincing that there is only one identity.

It is also commonly believed that objects close to our past experiences or culture hold meaning towards forming our identity.

Objects and identity

Large charcoal A1 drawings that focus on chiaroscuro; based on objects that reflect my personal identity

Faces, masks and identity
Examples of clay sculptures later squashed to produce a distorted effect, to represent the illusion of the concept of identity

Etchings based on the sculptures

Final piece with etchings and sculptures
